Cultivation: Suitable for growing in containers. Small growing and easy to care and flower. Because of its small size makes a great potted plant specimen, great for beginning collectors. It needs regular cacti soil with good drainage. Propagation: Seeds (usually) or by the shoots of adult plants (if available). Exposure: need some direct sun but is tolerant and prefers light shade during the hot summer months, allow to dry between watering. Watering should be curtailed during the winter months. Frost Tolerance -5°C if kept dry.
Propagation: By seeds, remembering that seedlings dislike strong light and dry conditions and need to be repottedfrequently. Eventually, as they become mature, they attain a maximum size of 8-10 cm (20) cm. However, old plants become senile and have a tendency to succumb to diseaseand a weak root system. At this stage, as is well known, theydie suddenly. So, after they reach 10 cm in diameter grow them slowly, and adopt a new repotting period, using intervals of every 2 - 3 years. Additionally grow them under drier conditions or with stronger sunlight.
Seed Collecting: Allow unblemished fruit to ripen; clean and dry seeds. Unblemished fruit must be significantly overripe before harvesting seed; clean and dry seeds. Properly cleaned, seed can be successfully stored
